Hello, I’m Hans Thiessen.

I’m currently serving as a Partner & Creative Director of Design at Rethink, where I help brands and brand-minded people boil things down (focus!) to blow things up (impact!).

Creating empathy through a single staple
Using AI to fight music’s mental health crisis

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide range of global brands (including Kraft Heinz, IKEA, Tazo, RXBAR, Molson Coors, Nike, EA, Mattel, Arc’teryx), non-profits, and household names in the making.

Our work together has been recognized with a variety of awards, press, and the occasional cease and desist letter, but the real prize is this: getting to work alongside relentlessly curious, passionate, and good-humoured human beings.
